About Me
The A to Z of Makana Limary

Jeff & Christine Limary
About 70 years ago a man from the Philippines was betrothed to be married. Not wanting to enter into such a contract, he jumped on the closest boat and sailed away. A few years later as he was living in the Hawaiian islands he fell in love and shortly after began a family. That man was my grandfather. One of his sons grew up to be strong and handsome and eventually joined the Air Force, concluding his term of service in Sacramento, California. He also fell in love with a beautiful farm girl and began a new life. That man is my father.
I am from a small town in California called Pleasant Grove. I am the fourth of ten children, (five boys and five girls). I have always had a love for learning, reading and running. I am fortunate enough to be able to attend school at Brigham Young University Hawaii and develop friendships with many peers from over 10 countries.
I first began school at age 5 and found it rather easy to make friends. There is satisfaction found in creating new relationships and it has always come easy for me to talk to those who I have not previously known. After primary school and surviving junior high I went on the graduate from high school. Following my high school years I attended Yuba College, a local junior college where I played on the collegiate teams of volleyball and track for two years.
Soon after I was excited to learn that I received admittance to Brigham Young University Hawaii. After a year attending school there I was able to serve an eighteen month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon completion I returned to complete my education in Tourism and Hospitality in Hawaii.
